Are insurance compaines requried by law to repace roof shingles with broken seals? The seal is broken due to high winds from IKE.

Are insurance companies requried by law to replace roof shingles that will not seal.? They will not seal because high winds from IKF lifted the shingles. Now debree has prevented the shingles to seal.

Tony I would highly recommend you do the following:

    1. Obtain a copy of your policy (If you don’t already have it or lost it) to determine the various policy benefits such as deductibles including adhesionary langauge iinvolving special named stormed deductibles.

If you feel the value of your claim exceeds your deductible and your insurer has denied your claim hire a public adjuster. Here is such a Texas based company I found googling. Qualifications and licensing varies from state to state so make certain to check out backgrounds before you hire.

Keep in mind our experience is that insurers will deny otherwise valid claims because they know a significant percentage of the populace will simply take the denial on it’s face.

Maybe some of the others who read and comment with us will chip in here too.

    Good luck Tony.
